GlobalWorks offers donors the opportunity to engage with thought leaders on a global scale. By convening regular meetings, seminars, and private events, GlobalWorks opens the door for brand leadership and key labor stakeholders to forge connections and work towards shared goals.
Sustainable Labor Relations and Co-Governance
GlobalWorks, JustJobs Network, and the Business Council for Global Development, in partnership with the US Department of State, recently convened a thought leader summit: A Road Map for the Future of Sustainable Labor Relations. This was the most recent opportunity for brands and labor stakeholders to share constructive dialogue surrounding the future of co-governance and sustainable labor relations.
Programs for Government
GlobalWorks has convened briefings and dialogue programs with members of Congress, congressional staff and Executive Branch officials. Most recently GlobalWorks hosted a briefing on Capitol Hill to discuss the methods in which Global Value Chains can generate more good jobs in the US and developing countries. This topic has come up in the debate about American trade policy, but few have addressed strategies involving capacity building and reforms, which area an essential addition to any trade policy.
The briefing examined practical capacity building strategies for good governance and the rule of law – vital drivers of inclusive economic development abroad and protecting the interests of American workers and businesses.
Progressive Economy develops ideas and practical public policy solutions for trade and globalization, to promote widely shared prosperity and opportunity, strengthen peace and security, establish and enhance the rule of law, encourage scientific and technological progress, and reduce global poverty. Former President Clinton laid the foundation for such a framework in his call to “put a human face on the global economy.”
